Roberta Jean (Gilmore) James

Roberta Jean (Gilmore) James was born March 4, 1941, inAda to Bob and Sylvia (Montgomery) Gilmore. She passedawayonFebruary 4, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 83.

Roberta grew up inAllen, where she attended school and graduated in the class of 1959. She marriedThomas James in 1959, raising three children together. She enjoyed bingo, sewing and going to the casino. Roberta drove a school bus for Luther, Star Spencer and Oklahoma City. She made pillows and scarves for everyone she met.Roberta loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, greatgreatgrandchildren and her dogs. She always said “toddle loddle,” as her own way of expressing her love and to say goodbye.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Sylvia Gilmore; husband of nearly 54 years, Thomas James; brother, Robert Gilmore, Jr. Survivors include her children, Karetha Davis and her husband Jimmy ofWellston, Mack James and his wife Jennifer of El Reno, Jessie Ealom of Wellston; six grandchildren, Becky (James), Julie, Bobby (Brandi), Kasey, Taylor (David), Bria; thirteen great-grandchildren, Cooper, Case, Chesney, Kobe, Calyn, Corbyn, Charli, Conley, Bailey, Cohlton, Lathan, Daylin, Serenity; one great-great-grandchild, Marlowe; many other family and friends.

A funeral was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Wellston, and interment followed at Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
