Samuel Richard Sparks, known to everyone simply as Sam, passed away on March 30, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born on December 24, 1936, in Midwest City to John and Ruby Mae McEntire Sparks. He was a resident of Sparks, Oklahoma, at the time of his passing.
He received his high school diploma and then joined the Navy, where he became a pipe fitter and welder.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, a daughter and a granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, two siblings, nine children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, among many other family and friends.
Acelebration of Sam’s life was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Faith Believers Church in Sparks. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
