Haley receives $1k scholarship

AChandlerwomanisone of five students to receive a scholarship from the Oklahoma Farm Bureao Women’sLeadershipCommittee, according to a press release from the Oklahoma Farm Bureau.

Delaney Haley received a $1,000 scholarship as she pursues a career in nursing. She is a member of the Lincoln County Farm Bureau and pursing a nursing degree at the Univerisity of Central Oklahoma.

All of those selected are from Oklahoma Farm Bureau families. The others are Kiera Turner of Boise City, Makenna Dupree of Elk City, Amanda Woods of Wilburton and Macy McCrary of Tahlequah.

“As rural Oklahomans, we know firsthand the importance of quality health care in our rural communities,” said Mignon Bolay, OKFB WLC chair. “The Women’sLeadershipCommittee is proud to support these outstanding students on their path to serve the people in their communi- ties through high-quality nursing care.”

The organization provides annual nurse’s training scholarships to help students complete their education so they can provide much-needed healthcare services to fellow Oklahomans, the press release said. Applications must be enrolled at least half-time in a nurse training program at an accredited college, university, techincal school or trade school.
