Alice Faye Vandever, lovingly known by so many as Mema, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026.
Alice was born on July 6, 1941, to John William and Lillie Florer. She grew up in and around Kendrick, Oklahoma, and graduated from Kendrick High School in 1959. On March 12, 1959, Alice married the love of her life, John Wiley Vandever. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage until his passing in 2017.
Alice is survived by her son, Mike Vandever, and his wife, Annita; her daughter, Penny Foster, and her husband, Jeff; eight grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1-7 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud, OK. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Davenport, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Parkland Cemetery.
