A Moore woman has been charged with two felony counts and two misdemeanor counts after an alleged DUI incident on Aug. 29, according to court documents.
Shawna Yancey-Ridenour made an initial appearance on Sept. 17 and will return to court on Nov. 19 for a pre-preliminary hearing. She was charged on Sept. 15 by Lincoln County District Attorney Adam Panter with one felony count of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance -- aggravated, one felony count of child endangerment by driving under the influence, one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and one misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Trooper Robert Darnell was on sitting on the shoulder of the Turner Turnpike near mile marker 152 at around 1:43 p.m. on Aug. 29 when he observed a vehicle behind him driving partially on the shoulder, nearly striking his car. He wrote that he caught up to the vehicle and saw it following too close to another vehicle and that it had a cracked windshield. He initiated a traffic stop. He stated that the driver had a delayed response, but did pull to the shoulder. He approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, later identified as Ridenour, and noted that she had constricted pupils. He also noted a child in the back seat of the car. He reported that he asked Ridenour to follow him to his vehicle and she complied.
Darnell stated that while speaking with the driver, he observed her hands were shaky and she was avoiding eye contact. He asked if she had anything illegal in her car, and reportedly she admitted there was a pipe she used to smoke methamphetamine in her purse in the car. Darnell said he then conducted a search of the car.
During this search, the trooper reported that he found: several small baggies of suspected meth; a small container with suspected fentanyl powder; a small metal container withtwotothree“M30”pillscommonlyknownasfentanyl pills; another “M30” pill in the bottom of the woman’s purse; a bottle containing a mix of several different types of Gabapentine, Adderall and other unidentified pills; a prescription bottle with the prescription scratched off containing another type of Gabapentin; a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue; a piece of foil with suspected fentanyl residue; and a small glass container containing marijuana.
At that time, Ridenour was taken into custody while her husband was contacted to pick up the child. The vehicle was impounded.
