Furry friends are in store for those who may find themselves on the side of the road.
Teddy bears were donated to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol from the Agra Club of the Oklahoma Home and Community Education Friday, July 31.
OHCE Lincoln County President Eileen VanSteenwyk said they wanted to donates these teddy bears to OHP so that the troopers will have them available anytime they come in contact with children.
OHP Trooper Adam Post said most of the times when they deal with children it’s due to a car crash. Which he said are very traumatizing, but believes these teddy bears will serve as a comforter.
“This is a little positive thing out of a bad situation,” Post said.
OHP Trooper Brody Carls said not only will these bears bring a little joy during scary times, but also show kids that Troopers are not so bad.
Through last years bake sales and quilt raffles, VanSteenwyk said they had the $120 needed to purchase 24 teddy bears.
“We thought it was a really good idea,” VanSteenwyk said.
