Jane Hope Stephens

Jane Hope Stephens, of Cushing, Okla., was born Oct. 22, 1945, in Pawnee, Okla. She died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, in Springfield, Mo., at 75 years old.

Stephens, the daughter of Anna (Falls) Delaware, married Gary Stephens on April 9, 1976, in Cushing.

A 1963 graduate of Stroud High School, she studied at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla., and the Enid School of Nursing to become a registered nurse. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, she finished her career at Cushing Hospital. She was a member of Only Way Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Bennie Delaware and Norman Delaware; and two sisters, Lucy Irene Delaware and Billy Jean Washington.

Survivors include her husband Gary of the home; her children and their spouses, Leah and Jeremiah Smith of Perkins, Okla., Robin Buckles of Cushing; John and Jennifer Stephens, and Traci and Matt Parsel, all of Stillwater, Okla.; her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sharon Delaware of Stillwater; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Stroud Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Shaw officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.
