Wow! Could you believe the list of accomplishments of Diana (Smalley) Reed and her volunteer group Town Talk? And I know of several things she left out. She epitomizes the saying by Dr. Suess “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.

POSTER CONTEST WINNERS

CELEBRATING READING ACHIEVEMENTS

Wellston Elementary School Librarian Janet Humphrey is pictured with students in grades three through fi ve who read three or more books from the 2021 Children’s Sequoyah Masterlist. After reading three books, students were eligible to vote for their favorite book.

Prague Kolache Festival

The Prague Kolache Festival officers and committee chairmen announced that the Kolache Festival will not be held this year. The decision was made based on the advice of the Oklahoma State Dept.

Chandler Egg Hunt

The Chandler Downtown Easter Egg Hunt will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 3, on the Lincoln County Courthouse lawn. Donations of treat-filled eggs can be dropped off at the Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce office at the Rt. 66 Interpretive Center, 400 E.

Stone, Cothran Academic All-Staters

Jared Stone from Chandler and Breanna Cothran from Davenport have been named Academic All-Staters by the The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. They are among 100 on the list, which was chosen from 379 nominations.

Meeker honor rolls

Officials at Meeker High School have released the names of students listed on the honor rolls for the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year. The following were on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. Freshmen - Darick Carney.

Chosen for HOBY conference

This year Meeker High School sophomores Levi Wynn and Maleah Blankenship have been selected to attend the HOBY Leadership Conference this spring. They were sponsored by Meeker’s Chamber of Commerce and BancFirst.

Northwestern honor rolls

Fall 2020 semester honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva have been announced by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Tammy Egger of McLoud earned a spot on the President’s Honor Roll by having a 4.

Jace Martin Spalvieri

Jeremy and Randi Spalvieri announced the arrival of Jace Martin Spalvieri who was born Wednesday, February 3, 2021. He weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Jace is the grandson of Rick and Paige Wilson of Davenport, Okla.; Jerry and Tenia Spalvieri of Chandler, Okla.
