Chandler residents on OBU Honor Roll

Republicans to meet Tuesday

Members of the Lincoln County Republicans will meet 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the lobby of the county courthouse in Chandler. County Chairman Steve Buoy of Meeker will preside as the monthly business meeting and Biennial County Convention are conducted.

SSC recognizes honor roll students

Officials at Seminole State College have released the names of honor roll students for the 2020 fall semester. Three separate honor rolls recognize students for their academic achievements. The President’s Honor Roll is comprised of students who maintain a perfect 4.

Fall honor rolls released at UCO

Officials at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond recently announced the students named to the university’s honor rolls. For the fall 2020 semester, 1,599 students were named to the President’s Honor Roll, an honor achieved by those who recorded a “straight-A” or 4.0 grade point average.

More local students honored

Northwestern Oklahoma State University Fall 2020 semester honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva have been announced by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Tammy Egger of McLoud earned a spot on the President’s Honor Roll by having a 4.

Meeker High School had its annual contest last week to decorate the hallways for homecoming. Each class had a hallway to decorate in the theme of a specific decade. The Senior class, upper left, won the contest with its 1950s malt shop, complete with some knocked-out rockabilly and doo-wap tunes.

Friday was a beautiful day for late January and disk golfers took full advantage of it. The fivesome of Robert Spurlock, Harley Pettitt, Justin Hoover, Blake Ivie and Logan Pettitt made up one of many groups playing at McLoud’s course along the walking trail in the Lawrence Wahpepah Park.
