Honor roll students announced

Officials at Chandler High School have released the honor rolls for the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year. Students listed below were on the A Honor Roll.

PCJLS auction and pig roast

Despite COVID-19, the Pottawatomie County Junior Livestock Trophy Auction and Pig Roast will go on again this year. It will be the same time it always is held, the first Monday of February, but it’s location has changed. It’s scheduled for Monday, Feb.

Oklahoma State honor rolls

A total of 8,004 students were named to the 2020 fall semester honor rolls at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, including 3,449 students named to the President’s Honor Roll for earning an A grade in all their courses.

Blackburn honored in Chandler

Bob Blackburn, center, retiring director of the Oklahoma Historical Society, was honored Tuesday with a Citation of Congratulations from the Oklahoma Legislature and presented by state Sen. Zack Taylor, left, and state Rep. Kevin Wallace, right, at the Lincoln County Museum.

Meeker Middle School honor rolls

School board filings

The filing period for school board offices in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties opened Monday and it continued through Wednesday. Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh said these were the candidates who had filed through Tuesday for the following offices.

UCO to hold virtual commencement

The University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond will celebrate the achievements of approximately 1,074 graduates during the Fall 2020 Virtual Commencement Ceremony premiering at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12.
