Librarian to retire

Carmen Harkins, head librarian at the Chandler Public Library, is retiring after 35 years, according to a press release from the library.Her last day will be June 28, and the library invites patrons to stop by between now and then to wish Harkins well in her retirement.

Early voting begins

Early voting begins today for the June 18 primary election across Oklahoma and voters can take advantage of that at the Lincoln County and Pottawatomie County Election Boards.Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh said early voting is open to all voters.

Deputy fired

A Lincoln County deputy has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges and has been dismissed from his job by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.Formal charges were filed on May 30 this year in Lincoln County District Court against Christopher Hyde.
