Nurse charged in child abuse case

A woman who was employed as a full time in-home nurse has been charged with child abuse following her arrest recently by Lincoln County deputies. Candice Elizabeth Bootenhoff, 39, of Luther was formally charged Oct. 31 in Lincoln County District Court with felony child abuse.

Veteran’s Day 2022

The Winners:

Green Kerbs Voters in Lincoln County elected a new District 1 County commissioner and helped choose a new district judge and a new state senator in Tuesday’s General Election. They also elected a new member of the Board of Directors for Lincoln County Southwest Fire District.

COFCU merges with True Sky Credit Union

The True Sky Credit Union and Central Oklahoma Federal Credit Union (COFCU) recently announced their merger has received regulatory approval and approval by a majority vote of the COFCU members. According to a press release, the legal merger date for the two organizations was planned to be Nov.

Commissioners approve budget, expire burn ban as of Monday

Lincoln County commissioners during a special meeting recently approved the fiscal year budget for 2022-2023 and also approved a couple of grant applications. Lincoln County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said the budget for 2022-2023 totals $13,081,448.66.

McLoud City Council meeting

McLoud’s City Council, with only three members present, tabled action on the appointment of a vice mayor and also held off filling the Ward 2 position. Council members did approve lifting a moratorium on billboards in the city limits.

The next meeting of the Lincoln County Democratic Party will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Lincoln County Courthouse.

Chandler FFA members met at the Chandler Fire Dept Saturday for a safety briefing, then headed out across town to weed eat around fire hydrants. We believe that allowing the hydrants to be easily seen will help the fi e fighters if the need arises. Chandler holds approximately 200 hydrants.

Three felony charges filed

A Sparks man faces three felony counts following his arrest by Lincoln County deputies. Brandon Allen Walker, 43, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Oct. 7 with second degree burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of firearms after a prior felony convciction.
