Race develops in Chandler

Several races developed during the three-day filing period for municipal offices in cities and towns in Lincoln County and some won positions when they were unopposed. Kent McVey and Tony Wilson each filed in the race to be Chandler’s mayor. Current Mayor Gene Imel did not seek another term.

Bond, tax issue pass

Lincoln County voters approved renewal of a one percent sales tax and Chandler school patrons overwhelmingly approved a $3.8 million bond issue in Tuesday’s election. The sales tax renewal passed with 1,285 yes votes to 346 no.

Playoff time

The Agra cheerleading team of Lilyan Krasinger, left, Grace Evans and Paizley Dutton, right, took a moment to pose before the Agra boys district tournament game with New Lima Friday night at Varnum. Class A and B districts started last week, and Classes 2A, 3A and 4A are under way this week.
