Officials at Davenport High School have announced the Valedictorians and Salutatorian for the 2021 graduating class. Three students will be honored as Valedictorian for achieving a 4.0 grade point average. They are Breanna Cothran, A.J. Jenkins and Emylee Keith.

Commissioners call jail election July 13

Lincoln County Commissioners this week adopted a resolution calling for a special election asking voters to approve general obligation tax bonds to construct a new county jail. The special election will be held July 13 this year.

The Central Oklahoma Economical Development District - Area Agency on Aging continues service to older adults in seven counties, including Lincoln and Pottawatomie counties.

COVID cases show increase

The number of new cases in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped a little in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show. There has been one new death in Lincoln County since the last report, but none in Pottawatomie County.

Five felony charges for Stroud man

A Stroud man faces a total of five felonies in two separate cases that were filed against him within a nine-day period. A woman identified as his girl friend has been charged in one of those cases with him.
