McLoud reappoints mayor, vice mayor

The McLoud City Council, in a brief meeting last week, reappointed its mayor and vice mayor for two-year terms. City Manager Buck Day said Mayor Stan Jackson was reappointed as was Vice Mayor Ralph Snider.

Initial appearance set

A $15,000 bench warrant issued for the arrest of a Wellston resident wanted on three felonies and a misdemeanor, has been returned and filed, according to court records.

Jason Mooy from Assembly of God brought his sons, Jason and Clayton, for church on April 18. Jason played guitar and led us in singing. He also read from 2 Corinthians and shared the problems Paul suffered while proclaiming the good news of Jesus.

Meeker’s totally renovated Glenn Crest Park, recently opened to the public, was dedicated earlier this week with a ribbon cutting. The renovated park includes new playground equipment installed to fit various ages.

Crawfish, ribs garage sales

The Chandler and Meeker chambers of commerce have community events coming up in the next few days. Chandler’s fourth annual Bell Cow Boil crawfish festival will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Route 66 Pavilion on Joe Long Drive.

Charge filed in assault of police officer

A Henryetta man faces an assault and battery charge on a police officer following his arrest by Meeker police in early April. Formal charges of Battery/Assault and Battery on a Police Officer were filed on April 19 in Lincoln County District Court against Jerry David Bell, 28.

The Agra High School Choir ensemble received a Superior rating at the Vocal State Contest. Marcus Johnston and Slade McDonald received a Superior on their Men’s duet and each received a Superior on their solos. Kiley McFarland received an Excellent rating on her solo.

An Ada woman faces a first degree manslaughter charge in connection with a fatal traffic collision that claimed the life of a Prague man last October.
