Vintage engine nearly ready to be unveiled

“They’re putting the pinstriping back on it, and they’re painting it on there,” Beesley said. “It’s not going to be like stickers.”The project also gives Francis Tuttle students hands-on experience with a vehicle unlike most of what they would normally work on.

Local libraries unearth reads in summer programs

With the temps getting higher and school officially out all over the county, local libraries have launched their summer reading programs. This year, a few have expanded, opening their programs up to readers of all ages.

The event broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest classic car parade; however, it wasn’t without its share of logistical issues. Hundreds were left out of the parade after being stuck in a traffic jam and were unable to even enter the staging area. That didn’t stop the celebrations for the historic day.

P.E.O. Sisterhood awards scholarships

The local P.E.O. Sisterhood International chapter, ChapterAN, awarded scholarships to two 2026 Chandler High School graduates.Hannah Campbell received a $500 scholarship. She is the daughter of Vince and Tamara Campbell.

Election Board releases voting rules

The Lincoln County Election Board released reminders for voters as they head to the polls on June 16.While it is legal to take ballot “selfies” or photos of marked ballots, voters can’t share or distribute the image through social media or by any other means while inside the election closure.

Summer feeding programs kick off in county

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is launching its annual summer feeding program in June, providing free meals and snacks to children, according to a press release from the food bank.
