Comm. approve two IT quotes

Lincoln County Commissioners have approved two I.T. quotes to connect three county offices to the new I.T. infrastructure. The approval came during a special meeting held last week. Lincoln County Clerk Alicia Wagnon explained, “Both quotes are from Apprentice in Tulsa.

Carney man injured in wreck

The Meeker FFA Chapter is one of 10 national finalists for the 2020 Model of Excellence, presented by the National FFA Organization. Meeker Ag teacher Logan Johns said he is proud of his students and humbled to be a part of this journey with them.

Next week: county fair

The Lincoln County Fall Free Fair starts today and continues through Saturday. There will be no carnival this year, but the livestock shows and table top exhibits will go on. People can attend the livestock shows, but not view the table top exhibits.

Livestock show set for Pott County

A stock show open to any 4-H and FFA student in Pottawatomie County is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Bethel Ag Boosters Barn beginning at 8 a.m. Sarah Weeks, coordinator for the show, said the barn is located just west of the Shawnee Milling Co. Feed Center on Hardesty Road.

Money for Stroud water

Stroud received $161,000 in funding to rebuild two of the filters at the water treatment plant. “We are still producing great water, but we’re doing that at half capacity at our water plant,” Stroud City Manager Bob Pearman said.

Lincoln County schools receive PPE

The Lincoln County Emergency Management team, Wellston Emergency Management team and six other jurisdictions worked together last week to break down pallets, count and divide personal protective equipment (PPE) for 60 school districts, which included nine in Lincoln County.

Outlook on upcoming hunting season

As the fall hunting seasons near, the outlook seems bright for most species from what area game wardens indicate. State Game Wardens Mike France and Jacob Harriet both seem optimistic about the upcoming dove season that opens next Tuesday, Sept. 1. The season remains open through Oct.
