The Stroud Industrial Authority, City Manager Bob Pearman, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics Grayson Airdies, and others gathered at the groundbreaking for the runway expansion project at Stroud Municipal Airport on Sept. 17.

Former substitute teacher found dead in home

A substitute teacher under investigation was found deceased in his home late morning on Sept. 18.The medical examiner has yet to determine the cause of death, said Chandler Police Chief Matt Mattheyer.

Emma Mascho and Shailey Penn have been named Rotarians of the Month for September.Emma Mascho is the daughter of Tim and Mary Mascho. She plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma to obtain a degree in nursing.

Meeker changes hours for town hall

The Meeker Town Board of Trustees this week voted to change the hours of operation for Town Hall.Following a lengthy discussion that included input from some Town employees, Trustee Kenneth Massey moved to change the hours of Town Hall to four 10-hour days Monday through Thursday.

Innocent pleas in sex case

A McLoud woman who earlier waived her preliminary hearing on three child-related sex crimes has entered an innocent plea during her arraignment.Formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 27, 2025 are Brandon Lee Morris, 26 and Trisha Nicole Franks, 27.
