Among the statewide races on this year’s Nov. 8 General Election ballot is one that is essential to public education. This is the contest for the State School Superintendent’s position between Democrat Jena Nelson and Republican Ryan Walters. We think there is a clear choice in this race.

Time to appoint a new DA

It’s time that Gov. Kevin Stitt makes a decision and appoints a new District Attorney for the 23rd judicial district that includes Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties. District Attorney Allan Grubb resigned in August citing major health concerns that have arisen for both him and with family members.

This year’s annual Pottawatomie County Free Fair has come and gone and some of those exhibiting animals and participating with their exhibits are headed to the Oklahoma State Fair. Something I don’t think I’ve done much of, if ever, was viewing the rabbits.

Town Talk and the American Legion Auxiliary are hosting an exciting event, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, on Saturday, November 12th. We are bringing the Andrew Sisters, or at least their tribute trio, to Stroud to entertain our veterans as well as anyone else who would like to attend.
