A big thank you to City Manager Bob Pearman and his crew for painting the Foster Park sign. It looks amazing. I’ve been driving by that sign for as long as I can remember and as I’ve said earlier, I think I took it for granted.

Updates from Meeker Town Hall

1. Update on Glenn Crest Park A. It is amazing how many out-of-town visitors are coming to the Park and letting their children play. B. They say build it and they will come; well, that is being proven every day at this Park. C.

Town Talk

Stroud’s mini-golf course has arrived; in multiple pieces, but it has arrived! Thank you to Miller Truck Lines for delivering it to us. J. P. Morris, Janet Griebel, City Manager Bob Pearman and I put one hole together to see how difficult the process would be.

Editorial

The dangers of being a law enforcement officer will never go away. If anything, they only will increase for the men and women in uniform.

1. Update on Glenn Crest Park A. Finally! The Grand Opening of Glenn Crest Park with the official Ribbon Cutting was accomplished with the Chamber of Commerce, Sponsors, Employees & Town Residents.

Time for planting flowers

This past Sunday, my wife Pat decided it was time to go buy flowers so she could plant them whenever she was ready. My role is helping to go and pick up the flowers, the potting soil and whatever else she thinks she needs. I mentioned picking up the flowers, not picking them out.

Town Talk

Stroud’s largest park is Foster Park, located at Gillispie Avenue and East 7th Street near Parkview Elementary School. The land was donated by the George Foster family and developed during the early 1950’s.

Dishwasher

I am sad on Kindra’s behalf. Our dishwasher gradually became less and less effective, recently reaching the point where it wouldn’t clean at all. There were times, in fact, it seemed to make dishes dirtier than they were when you put them in. So a couple of weeks ago Kindra sprung for a new one.

A very happy Easter

We kept the grandson Liam Easter weekend. We went and picked him up Friday afternoon at our daughter and son-in-law’s house in Norman and took him back Sunday afternoon. We had him two nights, all of Saturday and a part of Sunday.

1. Update on Grants A. T-Set’s, David Smith & Sheri Ripley notified City Hall that the Town has received the Top level of Gold status for a dividend of $14,000 to be spent on the parks.
