Town Talk will be hosting a fundraiser this week, Wednesday August 27th at Fourth & James Caffeine and Sub Hub in Stroud. This is a free tasting party to sample crockpot meals and dips. These meal packets along with many others will be available to purchase. All proceeds go to community projects.

This time of year is one of my favorites. The month of August is normally hot and, though this might sound a little strange, I like it that way as September nears.So far, August has lived up to its normal billing.

I got to thinking last week, when it was 156 degrees by midafternoon, that it was high time the Blansetts made a batch of ice cream.And so we did. There are few things as good as a bowl of ice cream scooped from the freezer on a hot August day.
