The Easter Bunny is hopping through Chandler on Mar. 30 for the annual Chandler Downtown Easter Egg Hunt.Hosted by the VFW Post #1719 Auxiliary, the event will take place on the lawn of the Lincoln County Courthouse, with the hunt kicking off at 11 a.m.

Manslaughter charge in fatal crash

A California woman faces a manslaughter charge after she was reportedly driving a vehicle involved in a fatal traffic collision near Stroud.A formal count of first degree manslaughter was filed March 22 in Lincoln County District against Ariel Navarro, 32, of Banning, Calif.

Earl Jones, a Tupelo resident, passed away Friday,March15,2024, at the age of 90. Born on April 9, 1933, north of Walters, Oklahoma, on Cache Creek. Earl was the son of Claud and Willie (Lovelady) Jones. In 1951, he married Ruth Turnpaugh, and together they raised three children.

Opposition to two proposed wind farm projects in Lincoln County could lead to a vote on county-wide zoning in order to stop them. At the Lincoln County Commissioners Meeting on Monday, Mar. 18, the commissioners set aside 30 minutes to discuss the topic, allowing members of the public to speak.

Firearms charges for Chandler pair

A man and a woman, both from Chandler, face felony firearm charges and misdemeanor drug counts, following their arrest by Lincoln County deputies.Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on March 15 against Herbert Lee Gaines, Jr., 58, and Rachelle Dawn Bannister, 45.

$1 millon grant for Carney

The Carney Public Utilities Authority received a $1 million grant from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board for improvements in their water and wastewater infrastructure, according to an OWRB press release. The Authority received the grant on Tuesday.
