Robert Wood and Colton Burbach have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for November. Robert Wood is the son of Geoffrey Wood, Linda Rivera and Eliza Rivera. He has 10 siblings.

Evans joins Wellston bank

Dana Evans has joined First Bank & Trust Co. as Vice President and Loan Officer at the banking center in Wellston. She has more than 27 years of experience in the financial industry. Dana and her husband of 37 years, Jeff, live in Wellston, where they have reared two children, Brandon and Tyler.

One hurt in explosion

A reported explosion and fire damaged a metal shop building earlier this week, hurting one person who was inside. Lincoln County Emergency Management Deputy Director Charlotte Brown, who responded to the scene, said the shop building was located on 1010 Road and approximately 3340 Road.

Wellston ex-teacher bound over for trial on sex cases

A former Wellston substitute teacher facing four sex-related felonies with minors has been bound over to stand trial. Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on April 12 against Emma Delaney Hancock, 26.

Chandler pair enters blind plea

A Chandler couple charged with sexrelated crimes to a minor following their arrest have entered blind pleas of guilty. Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on Sep. 21, 2022 against Destiny Ann Lowe, 39, and her husband Robert Wayne Lowe, 41.

Ada woman waives jury trial in fatal crash

A $100,000 bond has been set for an Ada woman charged with first degree manslaughter, in the alternative second degree murder after she failed to show up for the jury trial call docket Oct. 13 and now has waived a jury trial.

District Champs:

Stroud’s Tigers and the Prague Red Devils punctuated their seasons on Friday with district championships, but did it in different ways.

Chandler clinched second place in the district and a home game in the first round of the playoffs by outlasting Star-Spencer Friday night.

Stroud 59, Wewoka 0

Stroud scored 40 points in the first quarter en route to a 59-0 win over Wewoka Friday night in Stroud. The game clinched the District A-6 championship with the win and will host a first-round game in the playoffs.
