Janie Rattan (Harper) entered Heaven on Sept. 3, 2022, at the age of 98. Janie was born Oct. 13, 1923 in Claremore, Okla. She was the eldest daughter of David Martin and Biddie (Ritchson) Martin, who preceded her in death. Janie has one surviving sister, Carol Alley.

Samuel Lee Coleman Sr., age 68, passed away after a long illness at his Davenport, Oklahoma, home on Aug. 31, 2022. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him just the way he was. Sammy was born in Oklahoma City on July 15, 1954, to Billy Gene and Mary Francis Coleman.

Richard Scott Odle was born Sept. 20, 1972 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Vicki Kay (Skinner) Akins and Ricky Leon Odle. He passed away August 28, 2022 at his home in Tryon at the age of 49. Scott grew up in Cushing where he graduated in 1990. He went on to become a welder in the oilfield.

Trafficking charge dismissed

A felony charge of trafficking in illegal drugsfiledinLincolnCountyDistrictCourt against a Chandler man in February has been dismissed. The formal charge was filed Feb. 25 against Dean Zheng, 51, and a $20,000 warrant was issued at that time.

Famed mural artist Bob Palmer and his team from Palmer Studios painted a mural at the Lincoln County Historical Society Museum of Pioneer History on Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3 as part of ongoing renovations in the museum’s Children’s Historical Resource Center.

Special meeting

Lincoln County commissioners during a special meeting recently, voted to accept the J&J settlement agreement. District 3 Commissioner Lee Doolen, who is also chairman of the commission, stated that commissioners took the action following an executive session.
