Wellston man charged with kidnapping

Lincoln County Sheriff deputies arrested a Wellston area man on two felonies following a domestic incident last month. Formal charges of kidnapping and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction were filed June 2 in Lincoln County District Court against Shaine Richard Newlon, 44.

Felony charges for OKC man

An Oklahoma City man faces two felonies and three misdemeanors following his arrest by a Lincoln County deputy sheriff in mid-May. Formal charges were filed May 27 in Lincoln County District Court against Dillon Bryce Key, 27.

SoonerCare eligibility changes

Last June, Oklahomans voted to expand Sooner-Care eligibility to adults ages 19 to 64 whose income is at or below 138% of the federal poverty level. Doctors’ offices will begin seeing newly insured patients across Oklahoma when the expansion takes effect on July 1, 2021.

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

The children and grandchildren of Michael and Gail (Brown) Walters would like to extend their love and best wishes upon their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The couple was married June 11, 1971. Their children are Steve and his wife Lacey and daughter Monica and her husband Tim.

Children invited to VBS

Children aged kindergarten through fourth grade are invited to “Rocky Railway” Vacation Bible School at First Christian Church in Chandler. The event will be 6-7:45 p.m., Monday, June 14, through Thursday, June 17.

Living spontaneously

I had never seen such beautiful stars. There was little to no There was little to no light pollution, and the skies were as clear as could be. The air was just still enough to be peaceful, but not eerie. We were stopped for gas, when I saw the stars. It was just me outside, and it was wonderful.

IFYR time again

This year’s International Finals Youth Rodeo is only a month away. Preparations are progressing for IFYR 28. As most of you are aware, the world’s richest youth rodeo wasn’t held a year ago. Like so many events throughout our community, across Oklahoma and the U.S., it was put off due to COVID-19.
