Doyle Dean Hall

Doyle Dean Hall was born August 25, 1941 in Milfay, Okla., and departed this world on November 11, 2020 at his home in Kendrick, Okla., at the age of 79. Doyle was the son of Voy Doyle Hall and Nellie Dean Hall. He married Glenda Jean (Cook) Hall on October 14, 1966 in Chandler.

Joyce Mae Place

Joyce Mae (Lewis) Place of Stroud was born June 28, 1954, in Chandler. She died Tuesday, November 10, 2020, in Stroud at the age of 66 years. Place, the daughter of Troy and Mertle (Harding) Lewis, married Jerry Dewayne Place Sr. on October 16, 1972, in Davenport.

Veterans Day

Card contest winners

Chandler Jr. High Student Council held its annual Veterans’ Day Thank You Card Contest in November. This year, students from 6th grade at Park Road Elementary School participated along with 7th and 8th grade students in Chandler Jr. High School.

The Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce held ribbon-cuttings recently for Kristin Ludi Insurance, 808 Mavel, top, and Helping Hands Community Foundation, 112 E. 7th Street. Both opened earlier in the year, but ribbon-cuttings were delayed due to concerns about COVID-19.

COVID cases rise in McLoud

Teachers and students in the McLoud School District won’t see the inside of a classroom until Monday, Nov. 30, as it stands now. School Supt. Steve Stanley said the doors were locked up at the end of classes on Thursday, Nov. 12. “We’ve just been inundated by COVID-19.

Couples reach milestone anniversaries

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Battle The children and grandchildren of Nicholas and Barbara Battle would like to honor them on the occasion of their 60 th Wedding Anniversary. Barbara Wilson and Nicholas Battle were married November 19, 1960. A celebration will be held at a later date due to COVID-19.

Meeker school board

The Meeker School Board has approved the final 2020-2021 Estimate of Needs. Meeker School Supt. Jeff Pruitt explained to the board the Estimate of Needs being finalized during the meeting Monday was the exact same document he presented to them in September they had approved.
