Plans underway for Cowboy Rodeo in Prague

Team entries are being accepted for a Cowboy Rodeo to be hosted by the Prague Round-Up Club. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Prague Rodeo Arena. A limit of 12 team entries will be accepted. The first 12 checks received by Tuesday, Sept. 1, will be entered.

Wellston couple reaches 60 years of matrimony

Marvin and Deanna Kriel Evans of Wellston were married August 27, 1960. They have raised cattle and farmed together for 60 years now and plan to continue to do so. For most of their married life, they have raised a huge garden and people know where they can find fresh veggies under the shade tree.

Marlon Miller unseated incumbent Troy Evans in the race for Lincoln County Commissioner District 2 Tuesday, getting just over 68 percent of the vote in the Republican runoff. Miller had 694 votes to 325 for Evans.

Randall second at Stroud meet

Meeker sophomore Riley Randall ran an 11:10 at the Stroud Cross Country meet on Saturday, taking second place. An All-Stater last year as a freshman, Randall finished among a pack of runners from Lincoln Christian, which had the first-, third- and fourthplace finishers.
