Franklin Carl Ramseyer

Franklin Carl Ramseyer, proud veteran and lifelong resident of Meeker, Oklahoma, entered eternal life on Ash Wednesday,Valentine’s Day,February14,2024, after a brief illness at home surrounded by his family at the age of ninety years old.

Frank was born on December 17, 1933, in Washington, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Floyd Ramseyer and Elsie (Kuenkel) Ramseyer.

FrankgraduatedfromMeekerHighSchoolin1952. He started working at the age of thirteen at Meeker drug store before and after school.

He entered the USArmy in 1954 and was deployed to Germany where he spent two years there as a Missile System Analyst Radar Specialist.

He returned to study at Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

August 1, 1957, he married Phyllis Ruth O’Brien, they had three children and lived sixty-six years together.

He began his career at Tinker Air Force as an electrical engineer, simultaneously, attending Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma receiving another degree in engineering. He retired after thirty-four years.

He then began his career in the family business, Shawnee Floral. He enjoyed delivering flowers and working around the shop until 2020.

He enjoyed being active in the community of Meeker,servingonthecitycommissionandbeingone of the first members of Meeker Methodist Church. He also very much enjoyed being in the cattle industry for many years and being a lifetime member of the cattlemen’s association.

Frank was preceded in eternal life by his parents; his precious daughter, Cynthia Joy Standlee; loving brothers, William,Andy, and Jack; his loving sisters, Emma JaneVaughn, Marjorie Salwaechter, and Elsie MaePutnamandhismother-in-law,GlennaClarkson. Those left to forever cherish his memory, wife, Phyllis; son, Scott and his wife Kim; daughter, Jill and her husband Marty; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Standlee Daniels, Aaron Standlee, Daniel Standlee, Adam Ramseyer, Matthew Ramseyer, Zackary Ramseyer, Bella Tipton and Bristel Tipton; He also has seven great grandchildren; Sisters, Rose Marie Leveridge, Claudia Stearman; brother-in-law, Jim Salwaechter; and many precious nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Phyllis and family would like to express gratitude to theVeterans hospitalof OklahomaCityandTraditions health care for their amazing care that was shown to Frank. Also, McElyea and Owens Funeral Group, we are extremely grateful for their great support.

Frank was a man of great faith that loved his family deeply and is now rejoicing with our Lord and Savior in Heaven.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 8:30 am till 8:00 pm and Sunday February 18, 2024, from 1:00 pm till 8:00 pm. at the McElyea and Owens Funeral Group.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 19, 2024, at Wesley United Methodist Church, burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
