Glenda L. Temple

Glenda L. Temple was born on November 20, 1937, and went to be with her Lord on December 20, 2023.

She went to school in Chandler, Oklahoma, graduating with the class of 1955. She then attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in business in 1959.

Glenda started working at the Oklahoma State Capitol in July 1959.

From there, she went to Washington, D.C., and worked in Congress and the White House for 25 years. She returned to Chandler to take care of her mother and joined the City Council in June 2005. She was appointed vice mayor in June 2009 and her term ended in April 2021.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Opal Temple. She is survived by five cousins, Betty Crall of Chandler, Joyce Regnier of Yukon, Royce Ingram of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lee Roy Kalka of Davenport and Larry Kalka of Stroud; her dear, special friend Dee Dee Lewis; and her cat, “Miss Kitty.”

Graveside services were held on December 22 at 2 p.m. at New Zion Cemetery, southeast of Chandler, under the direction of Parks Brothers in Chandler.
