Thomas Harvey Willoughby

Thomas Harvey Willoughby, 74, was called home on August 22, 2023, surrounded by family. Tom was born September 21, 1948, in Lindsay, OK to Jr.

& Corine (Hightower) Willoughby. He kept Shawnee, OK and the surrounding area looking good for 55 years by upholding the slogan, “Keep Shawnee Beautiful – Get a Haircut!”

He graduated from Vanoss High School in 1966. He met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Linda Milner Willoughby on a blind date, and they were married on January 25, 1969. They moved to Shawnee where Tom began cutting hair. He eventually bought Del Plaza Barbering where he has been barbering for over 45 years. Tom and Linda moved to Meeker to raise their children where he was active in the community. He volunteered with the Meeker Round Up Club and served on the Meeker School Board for 13 years. Tom was responsible for bringing the “Brian Bosworth cut and all the latest trends” to the coolest kids in town.

Tom and Linda are members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee. He loved cutting hair, immaculate lawns, pristine car care, Friday night football, and spending time with friends and family. Everything touched by his hands was left better than it was found. He loved Jesus and was a selfless servant. He is cherished by his family, friends, and all who met him.

Those left to continue his legacy are his loving wife of 53 years, Linda; his children, Tammy Willoughby, Tony Willoughby, and Kristy and Brian Jones; along with his grandchildren, Tanner Willoughby, Lane and Liz Willoughby, Gracin and Olivia Jones; his brother, Larry Willoughby; sister, Carol Oldham; sisters-in-law, Fran Milner and Alberta Milner; brothers-in-law, Bill and Jean Milner, Ken and Fleta Milner; along with a host of relatives and lifelong friends.

Tom is enjoying Glory with his parents, Jr and Corine Willoughby; his in-laws, Jo and Essie Milner; along with many friends and family.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Oklahoma Heart Hospital for their unwavering love and care for dad during his time spent there.

A celebration of his life ceremony was held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Immanuel Baptist Church.
