Ten Chandler BPA students qualified for state competition and seven were able to attend and compete earlier this month. Out of the seven competitors, four will be advancing to Nationals that will be held in Anaheim, California April 26-30th.

Eight young women and men are this year’s recipients of the Gordon Richards, Sr. Achievement Award sponsored by the Clinic Pharmacy. Tim and Jamie Barrick are owners of the pharmacy. This is the 78th year for the award that was originated in 1946 by the late Gordon Richards, Sr.

Meeker Ag Booster Club had a successful Cake and Trophy Auction. FFA members worked all week getting together cakes, ssuch as the one carried here by member Billy Buoy, hop projects, and class baskets to auction off. The Grand Champion FFA Cake belonged to Makalyn Pryor.

Years ago I used to write a business column for the newspaper that I worked for more than 47 years. Primarily, it dealt with what present businesses were doing, when new businesses were opening up, that sort of thing. It really was a business briefs type column.
