Meeker Town Board

Meeker Town Board members this week discussed whether to allow vendors to use City Hall one Sunday each month from 2 to 6 p.m. for the Meeker Farm and Craft Market at the Meeker Community Garden. Following discussion, they voted to table it until next month to obtain more input.

Lincoln Co. Commission

Lincoln County commissioners this week approved several reports, took no action on one contract and adopted a resolution for a fencing project in District 3. The commissioners accepted a quote from McCommas Construction for carpeting and tiling of the Treasurer’s office and Courtroom No.

District changes for 2024-25

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association voted last week to split Class 2A, Class A and Class B in football and created some far-flung districts for local schools.

Hearing set in manslaughter case

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a young Prague man charged with first degree manslaughter. A formal charge was filed March 2 this year in Lincoln County District Court against Joseph Resin Linnhuber. The charge is the result of a fatal traffic collision.

13-year sentence in biker shooting

An Oklahoma City biker who was convicted in June of first degree manslaughter in the shooting death of a Midwest City man in September of 2021 has been handed a 13-year state prison sentence.

Warrant issued

A $25,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Chandler woman facing four felonies and two misdemeanors after she failed to appear for her initial appearance. Formal charges were filed Aug. 2 in Lincoln County District Court against Desmyn Cheynne Hill, 30.

Hearing set in Stroud man’s death

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Jennings man facing a manslaughter charge or in the alternative negligent homicide after his semi-trailer truck collided with a vehicle driven by a Stroud man who died in the crash.

Investigation continues in shooting of teens

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into a shooting that injured two teens, still seeking to identify two suspects. The two teenagers were reportedly injured in a shooting north of Chandler just before midnight on Aug. 11.

Suspect to stand trial in teen shooting

A Chandler man has been bound over to stand trial on amended charges in a shooting on Easter Sunday night that injured a teenage girl.
