A 15-year-old Davenport High School girl was killed Sunday evening in a one-vehicle traffic crash on Kendrick Road between Kendrick and Stroud.

Pair headed for trial for growing pot

Two men from Okmulgee have been bound over to stand trial on cultivating a Controlled Dangerous Substance after they were arrested by Lincoln County deputies last November. The deputies reportedly seized 386 marijuana clone plants. Quing Li Zheng, 55, and Wei Goa, 41, were each charged Nov.

Guilty pleas in abuse case

A Chandler man has pleaded guilty to two felonies and a misdemeanor and has been handed deferred sentences on each count. He was arrested by a Lincoln County deputy.

White Rock bond issue fails

Voters in the White Rock School District have rejected a $280,000 bond issue with fewer than 80 persons going to the polls. The bond issue was defeated with 39 of the voters opposing it to 37 in favor. School Supt.

Teens injured in shooting

Two teenagers were reportedly injured in a shooting north of Chandler late Friday night and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two male subjects as persons of interest.

Chandler hires teachers, adjuncts

Chandler Board of Education members this week hired several personnel and approved a number of committees. They also approved revised and updated policies. Hired as Secondary Teacher and coach is Randy Hedge, who last May retired after serving many years in the Chandler School District.
