Reuters news service recently carried an article about the formation of a new political group - the Forward Party, launched by former elected officials and candidates from the Republican and Democrat parties.

Coach’s hiring draws crowd in Wellston

A group of concerned parents in the Wellston School District attended Monday night’s board meeting, expressing concern over the hiring of a coach who is also an elementary counselor. Chad Hutchison was recently hired as the girl’s high school basketball coach and as an elementary school counselor.

My wife Pat and I had our little grandson Liam this past weekend. We went and picked him up Saturday morning and we had him until late Sunday afternoon when we took him home. Even though Pat and I were pretty worn out by the time we get back Sunday evening, it was a good tired.

Auditions for LCOS production

Auditions for The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild will be held on August 7 at 2:00 p.m. and August 8 at 6:00 p.m. at Lincoln County On-Stage, 108 E. 8th Street in Chandler. Five men and four women are being sought for the show. Director David Timmons said there are large and small parts available.

The Dale Board of Education this week hired several teachers and approved capacity numbers for the beginning of the new school year.

McLoud City Council: ‘clean it up or we will’

McLoud City Council members have voted to give the owners of two properties 30 days to clean them up or the city will at their expense. City Manager Buck Day said he was authorized to write letters to those owners of property at 602 W.

I saw the car as we turned right on our way home Monday from a quick grocery trip. It was a Honda being pushed up Highway 18 by a young woman on the back bumper and a driver who was leaning into the door frame while reaching inside to turn the steering wheel.

There hasn’t been a lot of discussion we’ve heard of on legislation signed back in May and that is about to go into effect Monday, Aug. 1. House Bill 3208 was signed nearly three months ago by Gov. Kevin Stitt.
