The Alpha Iota Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met Thursday, July 15, at Manvel Avenue Coffee Co. in Chandler. President, Kim Leatherwood, conducted the meeting to plan programs and activities for the 2021-2022 year.

Monday was the first day of limited football practice for high schools in Oklahoma, and the Chandler Lions got into action at 3 p.m. Teams can begin full practices on Friday, with games beginning as early as Aug. 27, when Meeker travels to Stroud.

McLoud modifies hunting regulations

The McLoud City Council has approved modifying the public duck and deer hunting policies and drawing procedures at Wes Watkins Lake. McLoud Assistant City Manager Cody Roe said the modification includes extending the period hunters can draw in for duck and deer hunting.

Prague 4H wins first

Prague 4-H members attended the Big 5 Livestock Judging Contest held last month in Luther, Okla. The team won first place at the event. Team members are Seth Pruett, Molly Pruett, Connor Imhoff and Tatum Smith. Connor was the 3rd High Individual in the contest.
