Hearing set for driver after two-car crash

A pre-preliminary hearing has been set for a driver from Shawnee facing a felony count and a misdemeanor charge following a two-vehicle personal injury traffic collision at U.S. 177 and Highway 66 near Wellston.

Davenport falls to Yale, 49-0

Playing their final non-district game of the season on the road against No. 2 ranked Yale, the Davenport Bulldogs suffered a 49-0 defeat.Coach John Greenfield said Monday, “We took the game to the fourth quarter. We’re the first team to take them past half time so far this season,” he noted.

November trial set for Sparks man

A Sparks man facing four felonies and a couple of misdemeanors has waived a jury trial and his bench trial has been scheduled for November.Formal felony charges were filed May 4, 2022 in Lincoln County District Court against James Leonard Smothers, 41 following his arrest by Lincoln County deputies.

Our son-in-law Terry took his son Liam (our grandson) camping one night earlier this week. My wife Pat and I are pretty sure they had a great time from the early reports we’ve gotten and some of the photos we’ve seen.We know Liam was really looking forward to it, as was Terry.

Plea made in child sex case

An Agra man facing two counts of child sexual abuse has entered an innocent plea and been for the February docket..John David Somers, Jr., 33, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Jan. 4, 2024 with the two counts.

Town Talk

The Stroud High School Tigers will take on the Alva Goldbugs this Friday night at Stroud’s Jack Poskey Field with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Stroud Booster Club and Town Talk want to light up the night sky with blue lights beginning this Friday night.
