Turnpike driver waives hearing

A driver on the Turner Turnpike who was arrested and charged as the result of the seizure of 85 pounds of marijuana has waived his preliminary hearing.

Dale school board hires new personnel

Dale Board of Education members hired new personnel this week and were informed that Special Ed enrollment in the district has grown 40 percent in the last five years.Following a brief executive session, the board members returned to open meeting.

A character moment

It started out like any other cross-country meet.Chandler seniors Kaylee Choate and Tatum Crouch set out on the course at the OBU meet, which took place at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center last Thursday. They were both having a great run, according to their coach, Connie Davis.

Bids come in too high

Lincoln County commissioners this week took no action regarding ARPA funded projects, the jail remodeling and expansion and a new building for the OSU Extension Center, after bids came in much higher than anticipated.Commissioners also voted to approve the county budget.
