Retired Perry Fire Captain/EMT Kenneth “David” Brandon, 63, was born August 21, 1960, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Kenneth Martin Brandon and Judy Ann Barrows Brandon. He passed away on July 6, 2024, at Stillwater Medical Center, Perry.A Celebration of Life was held at 10 a.m.

Martha grew up in Lincoln County area, where her parents ran the Sac & Fox grocery. Martha was a caregiver for many around.

Fatal crash near Meeker

A two-vehicle traffic collision east of Meeker in Lincoln County has injured a Chandler man and resulted in the death of a Beggs resident, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.State Trooper Eric Smith identified the Beggs resident as Robert Sumner, 31.

Stroud school board approves students’ free meals

Starting with the upcoming school year, all students from pre-K to high school in Stroud Public Schools will be able to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost.Superintendent Joe Van Tuyl recommended to the school board that they approve providing meals at their meeting on July 11, which they did.

A Tecumseh man was arrested and charged following a single vehicle collision recently on SH 102 in Lincoln County.Formal charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol were filed in Lincoln County District Court July9 against Bryan Allen Day, 48.
