Christmas list

I am almost finished with my Christmas shopping. Most of the presents are for my kids, grandkids and step-kids and involve pictures of dead presidents, so it’s not quite the accomplishment it seems, but hey. Celebrate life’s accomplishments when you can, right?

The greatest generation

I was recently reflecting about people in the generation before me. I think of those who are still active and full of life. I also think of the people of that generation who led active lives until they passed away.

Hearing continued

A pre-preliminary hearing has been continued again for a Carney man who was arrested following a pursuit and charged with two felonies.

Suspect in high speed chase to go to trial

A driver facing four charges after he reportedly led Stroud police on a high speed pursuit and was arrested has been bound over to stand trial. Dustin Don Secrest, 41, of Coweta, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 10 this year with two felonies and two misdemeanors.

No-show for bench trial

A defendant who waived a jury trial and asked for a bench trial instead failed to appear and a $50,000 bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Highway work

Drivers on Rt. 66 and Highway 18 may face some delays in the future, though once done, the roads will be safer and easier to drive, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT).

Donnie Lee Reed

Donnie Lee Reed departed this life on November 29, 2023. DonniewasborntoNoah and Winnie (Pitts) Reed on February 22, 1943, in Depew, Oklahoma. Donnie was the owner of Salt Creek Bait Shop and the Stroud Pawn.
