Jeanne Hodde, Chandler, Ok, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at her home in Chandler. Jean was born on November 6, 1940, in Louisville, Ky. Memorial services will be set for a later date. Condolences can be expressed at www. parksbrothers.net.

Marvin Leroy Glaze

Marvin Leroy Glaze entered this life on February 19, 1941 to George Glaze and Florence Flood in Redding, California. Marvin entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 82. Preceding Marvin in death are his parents, his daughter, Danette Glaze.

Guilty pleas to felonies

A Meeker man has waived his preliminary hearing and pleaded guilty to two felony charges and drawn deferred terms to run concurrently. Charles Lee Green, 67, was formally charged Feb.

Lincoln County Commissioner’s meeting

Lincoln County commissioners this week accepted a quote for repair and maintenance of air conditioning over the Courthouse area. The motion also included paying for it with money from the Courthouse Improvement fund. The amount is $4,800 from Breeding Heat and Air Co. of Chandler.

Treasurer’s office remodel

The Lincoln County Treasurer’s office will be closing at 12:00 on Friday, September 15th for remodel work to be done. The office will open on Monday, September 18th at 8:00 am. To pay taxes our website is www.oktaxrolls. com.

Tryon ex-officials plead guilty

Two of three former officials with the City of Tryon facing embezzlement and conspiracy charges have pleaded guilty and been handed deferred sentences.

School elections for Lincoln County voters

Early voting on bond proposals in the McLoud and Luther School Districts for voters who reside in Lincoln County opens today, Sep. 7 and will also be held on Friday, Sep. 8. Those voting next Tuesday, Sep. 12, must cast their ballots at their respective precincts.

Hearing reset for former substitute

The preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for a former Wellston substitute teacher facing four sex-related felonies with minors following an investigation by Lincoln County officers and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

Red Devils 28, Bulldogs 14

Prague picked up its second win in a row Friday, collecting five turnovers and handling Meeker, 2814, in an early-season rivalry match. The Red Devils beat Luther last week in their opener and head to North Rock Creek next week to face the Cougars, who shut out Little Axe, 21-0, on Friday.

Lions 26, Tigers 6

Carson Clagg ran for 130 yards and two firsthalf touchdowns Friday to lead Chandler to a 26-6 win over ancient rival Stroud. It was the Lions’ fourth straight win over Stroud, but was much closer than the last three.
