Leo the Lion is going to the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. On June 7th, Ashlee Beatty attended the Universal Cheer Association’s cheer camp where she tried-out for All-American and was named Chandler High School’s first All-American mascot. “It’s a very, very big deal,” Beatty said excitedly.

Carney School bonds

Voters residing in the Carney School District overwhelmingly approved two bond propositions in a special election on Tuesday. With all five precincts reporting along with Absentee votes and early voting, Proposition 1 passed with 59 or 75.64 percent in favor and only 19 or 24.36 percent against it.

Snider to be inducted into cheer coaches hall of fame

Chandler cheer coach Cynthia Snider will be inducted into the Oklahoma Cheer Coaches Association on July 28, School Supt. Scott Baade told the school board during this week’s meeting. Snider has taught at Chandler for 23 years and coached cheer the entire time.

Clarence Weldon Wright, also known as Teeny, was born October 31, 1941 to Clarence and Birdie (Rue) Wright. He passed away June 28, 2023 in Norman at the age of 81. Weldon owned and operated restaurants as well as vending machines. He later spent a few years as a car salesman until retirement.
