Tony Jake “TJ” Simek

Tony Jake “TJ” Simek, a life long resident of Prague, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the age of 81. TJ was born on December 4, 1941 in Prague, Oklahoma. He was the son of Tony Fred and Lillian Rosetta (Turner) Simek. TJ grew up in Prague and attended Prague Schools.

Larry Phillip Jackson was born June 8, 1962 in Norman, Oklahoma to Troy and Phyllis (Gay) Jackson. He passed away April 16, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 60. Larry grew up in Del City, graduating with the Del City High School class of 1980.

Dakota, Ma’Kenna, Eleanor and William Murray departed this life too soon on April 21, 2023. Dakota Lynn Murray was born April 20, 1994 in Cushing, OK. He was the son of Jimmy Don Murray. He graduated from Stroud High School in 2012.

Hearing set for driver in high-speed chase

A pre-preliminary hearing has been set for a driver in a high speed pursuit that reportedly started in Perkins, went down U.S. 177 clear to I-40 and ended at the Dale Middle School after partially running through a farmer’s wheat field. The driver, identified as Roderick David Pope, Jr.

Ada woman to stand trial

An Ada woman has been bound over to stand trial on amended charges in connection with a fatal traffic collision that killed a Prague man about 2½ years ago.

Westlyn is a 6yr old Stroud student in Mrs. Teeters kindergarten class. She is the daughter of Richard and Brooke Mascarenas. Westlyn is active in softball, cheerleading and tumbling. She is energetic and very witty, which will always make you laugh.

Hearing continued in turnpike case

A pre-preliminary hearing has been continued for a driver on the Turner Turnpike who faces a felony and misdemeanor for allegedly using her vehicle in discharge of a weapon.
