Rape trial to begin in June

An 18-year-old man facing first and second degree rape charges, who waived his right to a preliminary hearing, has been ordered to stand trial in June. Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court Sep. 1.

Hearing set in porn case

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Stroud man arrested by OSBI agents in July on two felony counts dealing with child pornography. John Mack Byrd., Jr.

Chandler JH powerlifting teams went to the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center in Shawnee last week for a JH powerlifting meet. Chandler 7th Grade won the 7th Grade team championship and Chandler had 16 lifters that placed in the top 5 of their weight class.

Meeker Ag Booster Club had a successful Cake and Trophy Auction. FFA members worked all week getting together cakes, ssuch as the one carried here by member Billy Buoy, hop projects, and class baskets to auction off. The Grand Champion FFA Cake belonged to Makalyn Pryor.

Jarvis resigns from Chandler school board

The Chandler Board of Education this week accepted the resignation of a board member, hired a paraprofessional and also employed two teacher aides. School Supt. Scott Baade said Board Member Tony Jarvis, who held seat No. 1, has resigned from the board.
