Chandler won three of four games in the Mark Howard Memorial tournament last week and came within a run of winning the champonship. They beat Skiatook, 5-4; Prague, 13-3; and Tecumseh, 6-5 before falling 6-5 to Sallisaw in the finals.

Ronnie Clare Underwood, of Stroud, Okla., passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of 78. Ronnie was born June 25, 1943 in Anthony, Kan. He was the son of Norman Elmore Underwood Jr. and Annabell (Hartman) Underwood. Ronnie grew up in the Anthony and Waldron area.

Curtis Richard Risenhoover of Chandler was born to Leonard and Mary (Tracy) Risenhoover on December 11, 1959. He died Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the age of 62 years. A 1978 graduate of Western Heights High School, Curtis served in the United States Army and retired from WW Steel.

Robert Wayne Butler was born August 25, 1955 in Shawnee to Elard Lee Butler and Patricia (Holt). He passed away March 15, 2022 in Shawnee at the age of 66. As a young man, Bob enjoyed baseball to which he both played and coached. He was a great provider his entire life.

Mary Lee “Mim” Brown was born November 23, 1942, in Pawnee, Okla. She died Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Stroud at the age of 79 years. Brown, the daughter of Raymond and Marie (Harris) Tyner of Cushing, Okla., married Aaron Brown in the early 60’s. She worked for the Sac and Fox Nation.

Daniel Denny Stites, 80, lost his battle with cancer Friday, March 18, 2022 at his Wellston home with his family by his side. Dan was born January 15, 1942 in Hanna, Okla., to James Butler and Dicie Pendley Stites. He grew up the next to youngest of six children.
