1. Update at the Library A. Friends of the Library announced that the Summer Reading Program will be held again this year at the Library, June 25th. This year it will be a one-day event. 2. Update on 56th Annual Meeker Parade and Rodeo Sponsored by the Meeker Roundup Club A.

Living spontaneously

I had never seen such beautiful stars. There was little to no There was little to no light pollution, and the skies were as clear as could be. The air was just still enough to be peaceful, but not eerie. We were stopped for gas, when I saw the stars. It was just me outside, and it was wonderful.

IFYR time again

This year’s International Finals Youth Rodeo is only a month away. Preparations are progressing for IFYR 28. As most of you are aware, the world’s richest youth rodeo wasn’t held a year ago. Like so many events throughout our community, across Oklahoma and the U.S., it was put off due to COVID-19.

Chandler softball camp

The rain last week moved the Chandler softball camp indoors for some spirited action with plastic balls. Above, Preslyn Goeller rifled several line drives despite having to swing with one arm. Right, Lady Lion Grace Hulsey helps camper Parker Guinn throw to the right base.

Stroud baseball complex construction

Stroud’s administration is hopeful that the school’s new baseball complex will be completed for use as early as next spring. The complex is located on Allied Rd, and construction is well underway.
