Paulette Harrison of Chandler was born to Darius Paul and Bernice (Robertson) Harrison on August 18, 1964, in Depew, Okla. She died Sunday, March 21, 2021, in Stroud at the age of 56 years. Her parents and her brother David Harrison preceded her in death.

Pauline “Jackie” Canant was born in Sparks on July 17, 1925. She died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at her home in Chandler. She was 95 years old. Canant, the daughter of Daniel and Ethel Cowan, married Dennis “Bud” Canant on June 9, 1945, in Oklahoma City.

Clohie Louise Wilson was born to Troy and Myrtle (Harding) Lewis on June 26, 1935, in Kendrick, Okla. She died Friday, March 26, 2021, in Oklahoma City at the age of 85 years. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Jack Wilson Sr.

McLoud Council

McLoud City Council members have adopted a resolution seeking a Community Development Block Grant to continue improvements to the city’s wastewater system in the Heritage Park Addition. City Manager Buck Day explained the grant would be for $299,999 and the city’s leverage amount is $63,500.

Elections next week

Voters in some area communities in Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties will decide school board and municipal contests in next week’s April 6 election.

The beloved seamstress of Lincoln County will be turning 80 this Sunday, April 4. Due to health concerns we will be having a come & go gathering at the Caldwell family home Sunday. We encourage anyone that would like to partake in the celebration to stop by between 2-4pm.

Felonies filed in December car chase

A man from Stroud has been charged with a total of four felonies in two different cases and a Stroud woman faces two felonies in connection with some of the counts against the man.

Charges filed in battery case

A Sparks woman faces a felony and a misdemeanor following her arrest earlier this month by Lincoln County deputies. Riki Dawn Bales, 48, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on March 11 with Battery/Assault and Battery on a police officer and obstructing an officer.

Two felonies in February arrest

A Lincoln County driver faces six charges following his arrest in late February by a state trooper and Chandler police. Chance Don Goodman, 35, of Chandler, faces two felonies and four misdemeanors.
