Phillip “PD” Roy Decker

Phillip Decker passed at home on Friday Feb. 5, 2021 at the age of 72. A lifelong resident of Sparks, Oklahoma, he was born August the 13th of 1948 in Torrance, California. The son of late Roy Decker Jr. and Mary Lou Winn.

Liona Sue Arterbery

Liona Sue (Miller) Arterbery was born November 5, 1935, in Chandler. She died Friday, February 5, 2021, in Shawnee, Okla., at the age of 85 years. Arterbery, the daughter of Doyle and Lucy Miller, married Don Arterbery on August 8, 1953.

Teresa Lee Adcox

Teresa Lee Adcox was born June 1, 1951, in Oklahoma City and died Friday, February 5, 2021, at her home. She was 69 years old. Adcox, the daughter of William Johnson and Betty Lou (Ledford) Richardson, married Murray Anthony Adcox in Royal, Ark., in November 2000.

A funeral service will be held for Terry Lee Thomas of Wellston at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, in the chapel of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston, which handled the final arrangements. A private burial will follow at the Wellston Cemetery. Thomas was born to Clarence W.

Meeker delegates to Girls, Boys State

This year three Meeker High School boys and two girls were selected by the American Legion Post 11 to attend Boys and Girls State this summer hosted at Northeast Oklahoma A&M College of Miami, Okla., and the University of Oklahoma in Norman respectively.

Felony charges against Shamrock man

A man from Shamrock, Okla., faces two felonies and a misdemeanor following his arrest by a Lincoln County deputy and an Agra police officer.

McLoud man dies in crash

A McLoud man died Monday evening in a two-vehicle collision on an ice-covered highway in Lincoln County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Smith identified the man who died as Lary England, 72. Smith said the collision occurred around 6:17 p.m.

Municipal election filings

One race developed for a McLoud City Council seat during last week’s Municipal filing period and several other contests for town boards, city councils and offices in Lincoln County municipalities will be on the April 6 ballot. The three-day filing period ended last Wednesday.

Meeker hires new football coach

The Meeker Board of Education Monday night hired a new football coach who will also teach, and rehired the administrators in the school district. Following an executive session and after returning to the open meeting, the board agreed to modify the contractural terms School Supt. Jeff Pruitt.
