Agnes Marie Shinn

Agnes Marie (Gregor) Shinn was born October 28, 1928, in Kiowa, Okla., and died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at her home in Harrah, Okla. She was 92 years old. Shinn, the daughter of Frank and Annie Gregor, married Vernon Grant Shinn on November 18, 1944.

Barbara Ann Condict was born December 20, 1948, in Okemah, Okla. She died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in Oklahoma City at the age of 72 years. Condict was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Roxie Ryan, her husband Marvin Condict, two brothers and one infant grandson.

Charges filed in Meeker abduction

An Oklahoma City man faces four charges, two felonies and two misdemeanors, following an alleged abduction of a Meeker woman in early December who also reportedly was pushed from a moving vehicle. Curtis Leumell Cole, 32, was formally charged last month on Dec. 21 in Lincoln County District Court.

I was looking for something in a drawer a week or two ago and came upon my FFA ring from high school. This is a vintage This is a vintage 1966 ring, ordered my freshman year, as I recall, along with my FFA jacket. It’s a simple affair, with the FFA owl-on-a-plow inside an ear of corn.

I was looking at a photo on the bookcase in our house this week that my wife had framed some time back. Not sure when we retrieved it from my parents’ house. It was sometime after either dad died in 1988 or my mother’s passing in 2013.

Happenings at Prairie Pointe

The Prairie Pointe family has welcomed Leon Williams as the newest member of our family. Leon was born and raised in Stroud by his mom Edith and stepfather Woodrow Sosbee. His real father died when he was two years old.
