The district’s board hired Cissili Sample to teach the new class.

Sample was one of five new hires at the Monday board meeting. The board also approved Holly Kubiak, Mikayla Hansen, Rebecca Jones and Sydney Guinn.

In his report, Superintendent Blake Moody told the board next year’s freshman class likely will include about 110 students.

This year’s eighth-grade class 69 members. Moody says he expects about 40 transfers from Grove, South Rock Creek and Pleasant Grove schools, which are K-8 schools.

Moody also said the administration is researching the possibility of starting a day-care for children of staff.
