Joyce May Williams was born August 12, 1925 in Ada, Oklahoma to George and Bessie (Holloway) Ebrite. She passed away July 12, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 97.
Joyce met Charles Williams while working at Douglas Air Force Base as a “Rossie the riveter” and he as an aircraft mechanic. They married in 1945 and raised three children together.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bessie Ebrite; stepmother who raised her from age 12, Erma Ebrite; husband of 59 years, Charles Williams; brothers, Arthur Ebrite, Harry Ebrite; and her son, Alan Williams. Survivors include her daughter, Janice Abbott and her husband Bailey of California; son, Joe Williams and his wife LeeAnn of Arizona; daughter-in-law, Sue Anne Williams; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren along with other family and friends.
A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023 in the Wellston Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
