Ramona Maxine Raffety

Ramona Maxine Raffety passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024.

Ramona was born on Wednesday, July 6, 1938, in Roff, OK. She attended and graduated Kendrick High School in 1957. After high school, she worked a few jobs until landing at Stroud School Cafeteria, serving in many capacities, but retiring after 36 years as the manager of the cafeteria. Ramona loved to write. She wrote for community papers, such as Stroud American and The New Era. She also entered into many writing contests including three years in Sac & Fox writing contest placing 2nd then 1st the other two years. She was involved in many community activities as well, she was in the Band Boosters even serving as president for many years, she was a PTA officer and a Sunday School teacher at Stroud Christian Church. Ramona was so kind and thought the best of everyone and always put others first. She was an encourager and a teacher, turning everyday tasks into a lesson. Her compassion and thoughtfulness will be missed along with her unforgettable smile.

Ramona was preceded in death by Harold Raffety; hermotherModellHall;herbrotherJohnnyVandever and sister Iva Ash.

Ramona is survived by her daughter Janice Griebel – Edwards and husband Roy; daughter Nancy Smart and husband Jewel; son Bobby Raffety and wife Barbara;hergrandchildrenJeremeySmart,Stephanie Williams and husband Shannon, Christoher Smart, Jonathan Griebel and wife Jennifer, Alicia Mitchell and husband Billy; and Patrick Phelps and wife Kimberly; her great grandchildren Madison, Lacy, McKenna, Carlee, Tanner, Kayden and Hadley Williams, Luke Smart, Jocelynn Mitchell and Addilynn and Griffin Griebel; her brother Howard Vandever and wife Polly; her sisters Sophia Waller and Linda Matheson; she is also survived by many extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Stroud Christian Church with burial to follow at Stroud Cemetery.
