Gerald Dean Murray

Gerald was a beloved son, husband and brother who left his worldly vessel to be with our Lord on March 12, 2026, at the age of 61.

He was born to Ronald Murray, Sr and Shirley Hockett Murray.

HewenttoDavenport School, worked in the oil field and at Dollar General as a manager, as well as a diesel mechanic with his father. Gerald had a big heart. He loved his family with a deep, caring rapport with his father. He was an avid animal lover; he could never turn away a hungry animal, even if it meant taking from his own plate. He sold flags and other gifts roadside, where he was known as “The Flag Man”. He loved to travel, especially along the beaches from South Texas to Florida. He will be greatly missed.

Gerald was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Murray; his wife, who he adored, Theresa Jones-Murray; his sister, Cheryl Ann Murray; his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Gerald is survived by his father, Ronald Murray, Sr; stepmother, Carol Murray; one brother, Ronald Murray, Jr; three sisters, Grace Manske, Kathy Faulk and husband Mike, Louise McDaniel and husband Rick; many nieces and nephews; and three step-sisters, Jamie Hyde, Chris Horning and Tracy Love.

He chose to have no funeral, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
